Francis S. Doyle, the Director of Off Ice Officials for the ECHL in Phoenix passed away on December 10th, 2005. He was 78 years old. Longtime hockey fans will remember that Doyle held similar positions in the IHL and WCHL, as well.

Originally from New Jersey, Doyle was a retired Motorola Employee and World War II Veteran. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Patsy, a sister, and two nieces.
