Booster Club Director Diane Husband Wins Trip To Chase Chevrolet ECHL All-Star Game

The ECHL in association with Chase Chevrolet Stockton announced that Phoenix RoadRunners season ticket holder Diane Husband is the winner of theChase Chevrolet “Win A Trip To The ECHL All-Star Game” contest.

Hosted by the Stockton Thunder and the City of Stockton at Stockton Arena, the 2008 Chase Chevrolet ECHL All-Star Game presented by Jackson Rancheria and Bud Light will be played on Jan. 23 with the 11th edition of the Chase Chevrolet ECHL All-Star Game Skills Competition being held on Jan. 22.

The ECHL will provide Diane and her husband, Tom, with roundtrip transportation to Stockton, Calif. where they will stay at the new Sheraton Stockton Hotel at Regent Pointe, the official host hotel of the 2008 Chase Chevrolet ECHL All-Star Game. The couple will receive complimentary tickets to all events including the ECHL Hall of Fame luncheon, the Board of Governors reception and the All-Star Fan Fest.

This is unbelievable,” said Husband, who is an administrative assistant at a law firm. “I entered thinking that it would be great to win, but I never expected that I would win.”

Husband, who admits that ‘sadly’ she cannot skate, has had season tickets for the present day RoadRunners since the team’s inaugural season, and was a season ticket holder when Phoenix played in the International Hockey League. She has lived in the Valley of the Sun her entire life with the exception of five years spent in New Hampshire where she followed Dartmouth College hockey.

“When we moved back to Phoenix, the National Hockey League was on strike and the RoadRunners were starting up, so we became season ticket holders. It was perfect timing for my hockey fix,” said Husband, who serves on the board of directors for the team’s booster club. “I would have chosen the RoadRunners over the NHL anyway because I like minor league hockey and it is more affordable. It’s been fun to see players that we watched play in college in the ECAC who are now playing in the ECHL.”
